About us

Fondation Enovos was set up in 2010 by Enovos Luxembourg S.A. and is under the aegis of Fondation de Luxembourg, a non-profit foundation. It reflects Enovos’ leitmotiv to act as a responsible company towards the current and future generations, in its role as an energy provider and beyond. An independent advisory committee assesses every project and decides on the allocation of resources.

Guided by the idea that the company must be at the service of humankind and society, the founders chose to contribute to the progress of know-how and technologies that make sustainable development possible, but also to engage in social projects that benefit the most vulnerable members of society who require special support.

The production and reliable supply of energy are issues that play an ever greater role in our society. Fondation Enovos is actively following and contributing to this development, taking economic, environmental and social aspects into consideration.

Fondation de Luxembourg

Fondation Enovos supports the following causes:

  •  Enhancement and development of renewable energy sources in Luxembourg and the Greater Region
  •  Active promotion of research in the fields of environmental studies and sustainable development by supporting scientific projects in the field of energy, particularly renewable energy
  •  Social projects

ENVIRONMENT

Fondation Enovos: for a dynamic future

Given the challenges society must tackle in the face of an increasingly rapid development, it is vital to display a sense of responsibility and openness. Research and innovation will continue to play an essential role by discovering new ways to improve our quality of life in a sustainable way. Fondation Enovos identifies and supports energy-themed scientific projects with the aim of finding promising ideas for the future. Particular focus is laid on renewable energy: research and the use of new and improved technologies are essential to find medium- and long-term solutions that meet both environmental and economic requirements.

The Fondation Enovos supports a research project from the LIST

Since 2012, the Fondation Enovos is supporting a research project from the CRP Henri Tudor (now LIST) that deals with renewable energy and more specifically with photovoltaic plants. The aim is to predict the performance of such installations for the upcoming 3 days and for every 15 minutes. Whereas there are already good developed calculation schemes for wind energy installations, the models for PV-installations are only in an early stage of development.

SOCIAL

Fondation Enovos: for a responsible future

Human warmth is the most effective source of energy in our lives. Considering the fast pace of everyday life, it is important to think about those who, for whatever reason, require and deserve special support or assistance for their personal development. Fondation Enovos takes its social responsibility very seriously, and helps to create prospects for many different members of society. It supports projects to help children with behavioural problems, young cancer sufferers and their families, and sportspeople with intellectual disabilities, to mention but a few. The common idea is to stand by members of society who are vulnerable in general or at certain times in their lives.

Päerd’s Atelier a.s.b.l

The “Päerd’s Atelier’s Liewenshaff” takes  teenagers with behavioural problems into care. In the group, they learn to cope independently with difficult situations. The centre was founded in 1990 and is officially recognised by the Ministry of Education.

Fondation Kriibskrank Kanner

The “Fondation Kriibskrank Kanner” supports families of children that suffer from cancer or other rare and life-threatening diseases. The foundation was created in 1989 by Chrëscht Rouseau. Through the illness of her husband, she had witnessed how young cancer patients were treated in Paris. After that experience, she decided together with friends to found this non-profit organisation in order to do something for these children. Over the years, the organisation has rapidly grown and got professionalised. Today, it counts 30 volunteers and 14 employees. However, the basic idea hasn’t changed: to help critically ill children and their families.

A.L.P.A.P.S.-Special Olympics Luxembourg

“A.L.P.A.P.S.-Special Olympics Luxembourg” is the sports federation for people with intellectual disabilities. It is a member of the “Comité Olympique et Sportif Luxembourgeois” (COSL) and belongs to “Special Olympics International”.

People with intellectual disabilities often have difficulties to be accepted and respected in society. They rarely get a chance to demonstrate their talents. The mission of “Special Olympics” is to give them joy and to increase their self-esteem by a better integration.

“Special Olympics” provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in more than 26 Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The organisation is active in 180 countries and coaches more than 2,5 million people starting from the age of 8.
